Instructions:

  • 1Stand in the Smith machine with feet shoulder width apart
  • 2Keep back straight and grasp the bar at waist level
  • 3Shrug shoulders up as high as possible
  • 4Hold the position for a moment
  • 5Slowly lower back to the starting position

Tips:

  • Keep the movement controlled, avoiding quick jerks
  • Focus on squeezing your traps at the top of the lift
  • Avoid rolling your shoulders back
  • Exhale when you shrug, inhale when lowering
