Instructions:

  • 1Lie back on a bench, gripping the barbell with your hands shoulder width apart
  • 2Bend the elbows slightly and lower the bar behind your head
  • 3Pull the barbell back over your head without bending your elbows further
  • 4Extend your arms fully at the end of the movement, then lower the barbell down in a controlled manner
  • 5Repeat for the desired number of repetitions

Tips:

  • Keep your elbows at the same angle throughout the exercise
  • Ensure your back and hips remain in contact with the bench at all times
  • Concentrate on isolating the lats as you pull the barbell back over your head
  • Use lighter weights if you are a beginner or if this movement is new to you
