Instructions:

  • 1Stand straight with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  • 2Extend your arms fully down to your sides.
  • 3Raise your arms in a controlled manner until they are fully vertical above your head.
  • 4Hold at the top of the movement for a second.
  • 5Lower your arms back down in a controlled manner.

Tips:

  • Keep your body straight and avoid leaning back when raising your arms.
  • Avoid hasty movements, control is key.
  • Feel the contraction in your shoulder muscles when raising and lowering your arms.
  • Use your breath: inhale when you lower your arms, exhale when you lift them up.
