Dumbbell Starfish Crunch (beginner) (male)

Instructions:

  • 1Start by lying flat on your back on the floor with a dumbbell in each hand
  • 2Spread your arms and legs apart into a star shape
  • 3Crunch up, lifting your arms and legs to meet in a jackknife position holding the dumbbells
  • 4Lower your arms and legs back to the starfish shape
  • 5Repeat for the desired number of reps

Tips:

  • Keep your core engaged during the entire movement
  • Always maintain a slight control on your limbs as they descend
  • Do not use your neck to pull yourself up during the jackknife movement
  • Exhale while you crunch up and inhale as you lower your limbs
