Instructions:

  • 1Lie down on your back with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor and hold a dumbbell with both hands.
  • 2Lift your upper body, twisting your torso toward one side while holding the dumbbell straight.
  • 3Keep your arms straight and make sure the dumbbell moves in the same direction as your torso.
  • 4Lower your body back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
  • 5Repeat the movement, this time twisting your torso to the other side.

Tips:

  • Engage your core throughout the exercise to assist body control.
  • Avoid such a speed that compromises form.
  • Don't lift your feet off the floor during this exercise.
  • Inhale on your way down and exhale as you lift and twist your torso.
