Instructions:

  • 1Stand at the base of a set of stairs
  • 2Step up onto the first stair with your right foot, then bring up your left foot to the same step
  • 3Step back down starting with the right foot, then the left
  • 4Repeat, this time stepping up with left foot first
  • 5Complete the set alternating starting foot

Tips:

  • Try to keep your back straight and shoulders back
  • Engage your core for better balance
  • Remember to breathe - inhale when stepping up, exhale when stepping down
  • Push from the heels to engage the quadriceps and hamstrings properly
