Boxing Jab demonstration gif

Instructions:

  • 1Stand in a boxing stance, with your left foot forward (if you're right-handed) or right foot forward (if you're left-handed)
  • 2Keep your elbows tucked in and your fists up near your jaw
  • 3Extend your leading hand straight out in front of you, turning your fist so your palm faces the ground
  • 4Immediately after extending your fist, quickly pull it back to the starting position
  • 5Keep your other fist near your face for protection during this movement

Tips:

  • Keep your wrist straight throughout the exercise to prevent injury
  • Use your hips and legs to create power in your jab, not just your arm
  • Keep your chin tucked in for protection
  • Do not fully extend your arm, keep a slight bend in the elbow at full extension for safety
